Instead of creating notes on paper, there are now plenty of ways to create them electronically either on your computer or on your phone. This means that you can revise when you are out and about, sneaking revision into whatever free time you might find, whilst the act of making the notes will also help you revise.

MindMeister is an online mind mapping tool that lets you capture, develop and share ideas visually. Mind maps can store and structure vast amounts of information, displaying hierarchy, showing relationships between single topics and enabling you to see the “big picture” at a glance. This also makes them ideal for summarizing texts.

Flashcards+ by Chegg is a free app that allows you to design flashcards on your phone to help you learn things more quickly. With the app you can take them anywhere, for example on the bus or at the gym and if you've got an Apple Watch you can also sneak in a minute or two of studying whilst your waiting for a friend.

Anki App is a cross-platform mobile and desktop flashcard app and you can make flashcards with text, sound and images, or download pre-made ones.

Grammar Up

Grammar Up is a multiple choice quiz system for English which provides over 1800 questions across 20 grammar categories. The app can help you improve your grammar, word selection and vocabulary so you'll be ready for an exam that might await you!

Line Learner

Line Learner helps you to learn lines as quickly and easily as you learn a catchy song. You can record scenes from plays and allows you to listen to the full recording while you can learn your part. You can then select to leave gaps in the recording for you to speak your part aloud whilst a prompt button is there to remind you of your line if you forget. You can even record your script, and share it with others, who can record their lines, and share them back, giving you the ability to rehearse together even when apart. Line learner is also useful for those studying languages who have a speaking element to remember off by heart.
