The University of Winchester
Dating back to 1840, Winchester's Church of England origins were founded on the ideals of freedom, justice, truth, human rights and collective effort for the public good.
Winchester is a historic cathedral city, once the capital of England and the seat of power of William the Conqueror. Its iconic Winchester Cathedral is one of the largest cathedrals in Europe, known for having the longest nave and overall length of all Gothic cathedrals in Europe whilst the Castle's Great Hall houses the legendary Round Table of King Arthur.
Winchester has a strong cafe and restaurant culture, while there is also an array of award-winning bars and pubs. The city has also been recognised as the 4th safest city for university students in England and Wales (Complete University Guide 2019).
