Glasgow Caledonian University
Glasgow Caledonian University, often referred to as GCU is set in the heart of Glasgow. It's know for its close-knit, friendly and personal community and range of facilities a virtual hospital, high-tech broadcasting suite, fashion factory and even an online Second Life campus.
With its heady mix of culture, architecture, music, nightlife, shopping and sport, not to mention its friendly residents, the city of Glasgow has everything. Accessible, affordable and multicultural, it's a great city for students from all backgrounds and cultures. Glasgow is one of the National Geographic Traveler's top 20 'Best of the World' destinations for 2016. The city was also voted ‘friendliest city in the world’ in a Rough Guide poll and described as a must visit destination by the New York Times, The Guardian and Wanderlust.
It was recently honoured as a UNESCO City of Music, and is famous for Charles Rennie Mackintosh's Art Noveau architecture and art galleries includeing the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum. Having hosted the 2014 Commonwealth Games, it's perhaps more famous for its football rivalry, whilst there are over 90 parks and garens in which to relax in.
